The St Thomas police are investigating the killing of a woman in the community of Ramble.
The woman’s body was found by passers by in a gully about noon today. It was stuffed in a barrel. It is believed she may have been killed elsewhere and the body dumped there.
The body was found in bushes with the legs sticking out.
The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said that the body was in a decomposed state and that no form of identification was found.
The circumstances surrounding her death are not yet clear, however, the police say a wire was found around her neck and her hands were bound behind her back. It is believed she was strangled.
The St Thomas Police are continuing their investigations.
