Prime Minister Andrew Holness is this morning expressing sadness at the shooting of four Police Officers with two dying from the incident and has expressed condolences to the families . The Prime Minister in a tweet stated that “My heart is pained at this time and I cannot imagine the despair the families must be feeling,”
Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay reported that the Officers were on a special operation in search of wanted men and illegal firearms when the officers were engaged. We are going to pursue these individuals in accordance with the law,” she warned, urging individuals with information to contact the police. Lindsay said an M16 rifle and two empty magazines were found at the scene.The attackers escaped.
