Patrick Powells’ Case Postponed

The trial of businessman Patrick Powell for failing to turn over his licensed firearm to the police has again been pushed back.

The latest postponement came this morning when the case was mentioned in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

The new mention date of February 16 was scheduled to facilitate the receipt of the Supreme Court transcript of the Khajeel Mais murder case in which Powell was charged for reportedly using the firearm to fatally shoot the teen.

During this morning’s court appearance, Powell’s attorney Deborah Martin requested the transcripts of witnesses who testified in the so-called X6 murder trial and who are to testify in the firearm case.
